The science & the reports are the keys to your success.
The benefits of Normative over Ipsative.
Our assessments employ the Normative approach, which is superior for precise evaluations. Unlike Ipsative assessments that force a choice between equally valued options, Normative assessments measure traits on a continuum. This method allows us to assess how strongly a person exhibits certain traits compared to others, providing nuanced insights.
Our use of a Likert Scale, ranging from 1 (Totally Disagree) to 5 (Totally Agree), enhances this by capturing the degree of a trait, not just its presence. This detailed shading in responses offers the accuracy needed for informed decision-making in your hiring and development processes.
Ipsative
- Refers to items that are forced-choice
- Are you either “this OR that?”
Ipsative
Candidates are forced to choose between different options such as a yes/no or true/false response. An Ipsative score does not allow for norms to be created to compare across candidates.Normative
- Refers to items that are on a continuum
- To what degree would you agree with this statement?
Normative
Normative assessments are far better at predicting performance and can be used to benchmark the ideal candidate against your organisation’s specific performance data. The questionnaire.
The questionnaire is a standard online interview that determines suitability to become a qualified candidate. This consists of a pre-screen to identify non-negotiables for the position. Candidates answer a set of questions about their work history, their education and background as well as a mini-profile to determine their potential and fit to the opportunity.
The report.
The hiring manager is provided information on the candidate’s responses which are formulated to provide an overall recommendation of “Recommended”, “Conditionally recommended” or “Not recommended”.
The information provided on the report provides clear and standardised guidelines as to whether the candidate should proceed further into the selection process.
It provides valuable data that can be measured and integrated with selection, development
and retention information as the basis for continuous improvement.
